Hinckley Under 9s continued their impressive run of matches away to Barkers Butts.
Match 1:
Hinckley got off to a slow start despite crossing for the first try, Barkers quicker to loose ball and turning ball over in the contact areas, Leo Hope for Barkers doing majority of the damage with a great all round performance, Hinckley’s Howe and Coghlan put in impressive tackle counts helping Hinckley go in at half time level.
The second half continued to be a physical encounter, both sides trading good strong tackles which pleased the watching crowd, and with both sides matching each other try for try ended a great game of rugby with a well earned draw. Hinckley 25pts Barkers 25pts. Hinckley scores coming from Lockett(1), Ellershaw(2), Delo(1), Long(1).
Match 2:
A switched on Hinckley dominated the second game, this time the forwards alive to loose ball, driving forward runs from Lockett, Davey and Coghlan set up attack after attack, with the backs passing to each other and realising this actually gave them more space ran in an impressive score. Barkers only managing to cross the white wash once which came from Hinckley’s Handford,who sportingly played for the opposition.
Final Score, Hinckley 35pts Barkers 5pts. Hinckley scorers Coghlan(1), Ellershaw(2), Howe(1), Crowfoot(1), Dalby(1), O’Brien(1), Handford(1) for Barkers.
A big thank you to Hinckley’s Handford who played for the opposition in both games, also getting on the score sheet for Barkers only score in the second game.
