Ampthill 52 Hinckley 13
Ampthill continued to show why they are top of the league and they were clinical both with and without ball. Ampthill had had the benefit of training throughout the Christmas period and playing Bromsgrove post Christmas. It showed as match sharpeness and fitness nullified Hinckley in many assets of the game. All was not bad for Hinckley as they did in parts put some good phases of rugby together. The lack of sustained intensity was probably the most disappointing part but not surprising after the poor Christmas preparation due to the weather.
Hinckley now need to put the poor Christmas period behind them, show some dog and get 2010 started. No panic but they need much more sustained intensity and accuracy over the forthcoming weeks. Bring on Bedford but more importantly bring back our match intensity!!
