Under 13s v Old Coventrians
Sunday 24th January 2010
After 7 weeks weather enforced lay-off Hinckley Under 13s powered back to beat Old Coventarians by 31 points to 10 despite going a try down in the first minutes.
Welcoming back Freddie Tuilagi Junior on a visit from Samoa Sephton scored a well worked try to cancel out the visitors early lead and Letts and Spencer both scored characteristicic “Flying Tries” after Hinckleys forwards reasserted the dominance that was so evident in the first half of the season. With Nixon converting 2 of the tries Hinckley enjoyed a 19 points to 5 lead at half time.
Lack of concentration meant that Coventarians were able to strike back early in the second half with another unconverted try but the alarm bells rang, Hinckley picked their game up and the forwards ground down the opposition to allow Letts to show his superb speed and athleticism with 2 copybook tries after well handled backs movements left him clear. Bruce converted 1 try to make the final score a tribute to the sides ability.
Scorers:- Letts 3 tries, Sephton 1, Spencer 1. Nixon 2 Conversions Bruce 1. Hinckley U13s 31 Old Coventarians 10
