Manu Tuilagi Free To Stay!

Ex. Hinckley Rugby Club junior Manu Tuilagi has won his fight against deportation after the Home Office granted him indefinite leave to remain in the UK.

Tuilagi, one of six brothers to play for the Tigers, looked set to be forced to return to Samoa after having his initial application for a work permit turned down.

However Tuilagi, who was educated at John Cleveland College in Hinckley and has represented England Under-18s, has now been told he can remain in the country.

“I always wanted to stay in Leicester, I went to school in this area and my friends are here,” he told the club’s official site.

“It is a big day for me to be told this good news and now I can concentrate on my rugby career with Leicester Tigers.

Hinckley RFC Are Promoted To National 2 South

After a long and sometimes painful delay, we can confirm that Hinckley RFC have been promoted to National 2 South. This now opens up a new era in Hinckley RFC’s history. For those unaware, Hinckley were in the National leagues 12 years ago when we spent 2 years in National league 2 (3 at the time before a RFU reshuffle) North. It will be a great experience for all with Hinckley having never played any of the teams in the league. I think the nearest we have come are a few colts games in the National cup and a game against Lydney cancelled due to the weather around 30 years ago!

With 3 trips to the seaside – Southend, Worthing(Brighton) & Jersey, a trip to the races at Newbury, the royal regatta at Henley and a trip to Old Deer Park – the home of Richmond Athletic, plus much more this coming season won’t be boring and will be another rich page in the history of Hinckley RFC.

Players and supporters alike be prepared for an adventure of epic proportions!

There will an INFORMATION EVENING at the HRFC Clubhouse on Thursday 24th June 2010 (7:00pm for prompt 7:30pm start) in order to update members on progress with plans for the development of the club’s facilities.

100 Club Will Be Drawn 18th June At Players Dinner

The players dinner is on 18th June due to everyones rugby commitments this year. All players are invited. Captains will be organising tables. The 100 club will be drawn at the players dinner. This quarters prize will be £300.
